Bowers & Wilkins flagship headphones that are the PX7 S2 have been consistently on top wireless headset lists since the introduction of the first generation PX7 in 2015. This puts them in the same category as Sony WH1000XM5 and Bose QuietComfort. The latest model, the PX7 S2, is an upgrade that takes the original headphones to the next level with better ANC performance as well as a fresh design.

The 40mm bio-cellulose drivers in the earcups are placed in a way they are aimed directly at your eardrums. This provides an experience with more intimacy than other headphones with a closed back. The PX7 S2s aren't just noise-cancelling, they also have a variety of other features that make them competitive with other top-rated headphones. They're completely wireless, with Bluetooth multipoint connectivity, which means you can connect two devices at once They also have a built-in microphone that supports hands-free calling with your phone's assistant. They're also incredibly durable, with a premium-feeling and robustly-constructed construction that can last for years of continuous usage.

They're not perfect, of course. The clamp force of our test models were slightly higher than we would have liked and they didn't have as many app features as other options. But these are minor issues. The PX7 S2s is a fantastic wireless headphones bluetooth headphones headset that beats out other headsets in its class. It's difficult to imagine a competitor beating them.

3. Focal Bathys Wireless

Focal Bathys is the ideal option for audiophiles who value high-fidelity and are looking for headphones that can be used wirelessly to block out noise. The Focal Bathys are the first ANC headphones from an French audio manufacturer to utilize Bluetooth. They provide stunning sound both in Bluetooth mode and when connected via USB to a device for true hi-fi audio with a maximum of 24bit/192kHz.

The Bathys are stunning with their glossy finish and swooping curvatures similar to Focal's closed-back Celestee and open-back Elear headphones. The Bathys are made from top-quality materials like magnesium and aluminum that make them feel durable and comfortable. They're also worth the cost.

In Bluetooth mode, the Bathys provide a clear and lively sound quality that easily beats similar priced consumer ANC alternatives like the Sony XM5/5 or Bose QC45. Direct DAC audio mode lets them be extended which makes them a fantastic option for true hifi listeners.

Utilizing the Focal & Naim app users can alter their headphone's playback controls, virtual assistant, and Bluetooth pairing preferences. The app lets users select between silent and soft intensities for ANC. They can also adjust the brightness of the LEDs that are on the earcups of the headphones, as well as alter the EQ settings. The app is basic but it has enough features to be worth the cost.

The only flaw is the active noise cancellation, which doesn't live up to the quality of the competition. They support multipoint Bluetooth pairing, which means that you can connect them to two devices simultaneously should you choose to.

In my tests the CH720N's hybrid tech for noise cancellation did an excellent job at reducing ambient noise. There were only a few blips when walking through Waterloo Station and London Victoria. The sound-silencers didn't zap every sound in the vicinity however, they struggled with lower frequency sounds like the rumbling engine sound of buses and trains.

The CH720N's Bluetooth connection was a breeze and showed a low level harmonic distortion. I tried a variety of genres and found they were able to handle the intricate interplay between instruments with ease. It did an excellent job of taming bass in rock tracks, and focusing the mix.

I like the possibility of adjusting the Sony Headphones Connect app to modify the CH720N's ANC as well as multipoint connectivity settings to suit your preferences, as well as add a variety of audio presets. You can also enable DSEE via the app, which increases audio quality and speeds up the removal of compressed audio content.

While the WH-CH720N does not have some of Sony's primetime functions compared to the XM5 (such as Speak-to-Chat and Quick Attention) they do offer a robust set of features available for PS130. 360 Reality Audio, smart controls and the DSEE upscaling are all included. The only thing missing is LDAC Bluetooth high-res audio support which I believe would have been a great inclusion.
