1. iRobot s8

This smart robot vacuum and mop is a fantastic choice for many homes. It can be used to vacuum and mop and is extremely navigable using both GPS and laser sensors and has a wide range of features and controls that are accessible through the app. It also comes with a helpful feature that lets you add cleaning zones to certain areas that require more attention, as well as Keep Out zones that you don't want it to be. It also gets software updates, similar to all Roomba products, which make it better over time.

However, it's not as accurate in detecting pet waste or other hazards.

2. Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8

Although Anker-owned Eufy has earned its name in low-cost robot vacuums it's not yet an all-in-one model that could also mop. That's changed with the X8 Hybrid, which has an impressive set of modern features and can compete well with more expensive models.

Laser navigation is the main selling point of this machine. The previous Eufy devices have built up an outline of your home utilizing infrared sensors and bumping into objects however the X8's laser mapping system is far more precise. It takes less time to create an extensive map of your home. It can also store multiple maps. This is perfect for homes with multiple floors.

The X8 is a good vacuum cleaner on bare floors. It is able to easily throw debris under the side brushes and into its 400ml dustbin. Its tyres are adept at hugging corners and edges, even though they are circular. It's not a great kitty litter picker, though as our tests show it is able to remove around 90 percent of the fur from hard floors.

The company is known for its quiet home appliances, Miele's RX2 robot vacuum comes with outstanding cleaning power, beautiful design, and a great navigation. But it has a few operational oddities that prevent it from being ranked as the best overall smart robot vacuum.

Like the latest models from iRobot and models, the RX2 features dual-sensor mapping that uses a LIDAR sensor to map an area and two 3D scanning cameras to identify and avoid obstacles (like furniture legs or pet waste) in real-time. Once the room is defined and assigned, you can designate virtual no-go areas and preferred sections to the robot. You can also begin a manual clean or manually change the cleaning mode, watch a live feed from the onboard cameras, and more on the main screen.

The RX2 has superior sensors that can identify furniture and other obstructions instantly. The suction and sweeping capabilities are excellent, removing surface litter from carpets of medium pile and ilife robot vacuum also removing dust that has been deposited on floors. It's not the fastest robot on the market. Like many other robots it's not a very good climber and has issues with things like metal threshold transition strips.

Many people purchase robot vacuums because of the ease of setting up a schedule on an app, and then forgetting about them for weeks. 4. Shark ION

This budget robovac that looks like any other, but has several more features and is more efficient. Its smart mapping system generates 3D and 2D maps of your home, and uses them to navigate and avoid obstacles. It is able to detect common obstacles such as furniture legs and power cords in real-time. This combination of sensors, together with a bump sensor, and an infrared sensor for dropping that keeps it off stairs is what makes it one of the most flexible vacs we've tried.

It was able to climb over carpets with thick shags and didn't get stuck (unlike the RoboVac 11s, or Roomba 690-). Its navigational skills were impressive as well as its score for composite tests on carpet and bare floors beat out the competition. It was able to pick up 98.5 percent of the surface litter and embedded pet hair from our laboratory test samples.

The controls are more basic than competitors. There's a round cleaning button on the top and you can launch it via the app or by voice command with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also schedule daily or weekly cleanings, create no-go zones and view its cleaning history. Ion is covered in a smart dark gray plastic that feels and looks attractive in your home. The dust bin on the rear is accessible for emptying and cleaning the filter is the same.

5. Eufy 11S

Eufy 11S is a good option if you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that is simple and has no frills at a low cost. The model isn't equipped with smart features such as Alexa integration and digital mapping that are found in more expensive models. However, if you don't need these functions, you can save money.

This robot is easy to set up and use. The Roomba is the flagship model of iRobot's ilife Robot vacuum vacuum robot mop. It's costly, but it's the best robot vacuum that you can buy. Its self-navigating capabilities and environmental mapping are something to behold. It is more sophisticated in its automation than the majority of its rivals, for instance the ability to set up virtual boundary markers using its mobile application. It's a powerful robot vacuum, even if its app isn't the most responsive and the 980 spins out when it comes across cables.

We love the 980 because it uses its iAdapt2.0 navigation sensors and its visual simultaneity mapping and localisation (or vSLAM), to memorise your home's floor plan. It will use this information to create a consistent and efficient cleaning path in every cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a better robot vacuum than many high-end robotics.

Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface brushes that capture dirt on floors and carpets and the spinning brush that sweeps debris into the robotic vacuum’s bin. The floor tracking sensor helps it navigate around furniture as well as along edges and stairs. Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling. It also automatically returns to the base station to allow for recharging in between sessions. The bin capacity and battery life of the 980 aren't as good as those of other robot vacuums.
