We've seen this technology in action and it does a good job of maneuvering around toys left scattered on the floor, or furniture legs that stick out from under things. The Roomba 980 is still one of the most efficient robots in our list despite the slight limitations. It's also not as expensive as other top-of-the-line models. The iRobot Roomba can be set up in a matter of minutes and is available for use immediately. After removing the battery pull tab and yellow bin insert from its undercarriage, all you need to do is plug it into its Home Base docking station or a wall socket, hit its big "Clean" button and let it go to work. It will return to its dock when it is running out of batteries or is full of debris. There are also indicator lights on top that show when the bin is empty, when it needs to recharge, or if it loses Wi-Fi.
