The Eufy 11S robotic vacuum is one of the most affordable self-emptying vacuums available on the market. It ably sucked up dry oats from hard floors and carpets with a low pile during our tests. Its dust bin is simple to empty and openit's much simpler than some other models in its price range.

It recharges at its base and resumes cleaning when it's at its best. However, its obstacle-avoidance technology is caught in cords and socks, and it's not able to go below low thresholds.

1. iRobot 11S

The 11S is a cheaper self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner that many people seem to like. It's great for scooting under furniture and is thought to be a great choice for people with hard floors or who want to perform light daily cleaning. The suction is less powerful than our top picks but it's still able to do the job. It also has a huge dirt bin and a battery that can last for over an hour. The app lets you schedule your daily cleaning chores or choose a particular room. It's also possible to map out your home, which could assist in avoiding areas you don't want it to go to.

The app is easy to use and has an intuitive layout. It doesn't come with any advanced features, but it's simple enough to use and makes it easy to keep track of the progress of your robot. It also has a tutorial which will guide you through the basics.

It's a great choice on carpets with medium or low pile. Similar to the Roomba by iRobot Roomba, it has a huge dirt compartment and utilizes BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It also has an adjustable remote that is easy to operate and you can schedule daily cleanings using the app. Its battery lasts about an hour and the dustbin can be emptied without removing it from the dock.

2. Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great robot with an impressive array of automation features. It comes in three options including the standard S7, the S7 MaxV Plus and the S7 MaxV Ultra. The S7 MaxV Ultra is the only one equipped with an Empty Wash Fillet Dock (or an alternate Auto-Empty Dock). These docks let the robot return to its home base after cleaning and empty the debris into a dust collection bag or reservoir, empty the dirty water tank and wash its mopping pad.

The S7's sensors work to eliminate obstacles and clean the floors. It can detect floor types and save a floor map for rooms and zones. It can even determine dirt levels. It's also capable of scheduling and running spot-cleaning sessions. It performed well in standard tests, but couldn't match the iRobot Roomba j7+ for best robot vacuum self emptying the carpet deep cleaning test.

Utilizing the companion app, you can program the S7 to perform a cleaning cycle in accordance with your schedule. You can select a cleaning mode, such as eco or automatic, and the day, week or time. You can also choose whether the robot will stop when its power runs out or when it comes across an obstruction.

If you don't have an Android device however, you can still utilize the S7 by connecting a remote to its charging dock. The controls can be difficult initially but they're very efficient once you get used to them. 3. Shark IQ SX

Shark isn't as well-known in the field of robot vacuums as iRobot and Roborock However, our tests on this model has shown it to be one of the best robot vacuum Self emptying self-emptying robot vacuums on the market. It's simple to set up and has a large bin that can be easily emptied (albeit loudly) to a trashcan when it is full. It can also be programmed to clean your entire home on a regular basis.

The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi that allows you to monitor it through the Shark app and view its battery level as it cleans. The app allows you to program a cleaning routine and receive push notifications about its condition as well as pause cleaning and then resume cleaning or set it to clean only one area. It can also be controlled by voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will inform you what power mode it's currently in--Eco, Normal, or Max. However, we couldn't determine that any of the modes made a significant difference to the cleaning performance.

The IQ XL will automatically empty the trash bin at the end of a cleaning cycle into the base, which will then self-empty. There isn't much to dislike about the Shark IQ XL, although it is a little less sturdy than the Roomba 694. The i7 also feels more sturdy, is more durable and requires less maintenance. It has lower recurring costs and charges more quickly and has similar battery performance. It also comes with more advanced technology for automation, such as no-go zones and the ability to choose specific rooms to be cleaned.

4. iRobot J7+

This robot vac and mop combo is a rare beast that can perform both tasks efficiently. IRobot's Combo j7+ has all the advantages of its j7-based counterpart, including self-emptying and LiDAR mapping, but also includes additional features for mopping and vacuuming.

The new acoustic sensors aid the j7+ recognize the types of flooring, so it can choose between vacuuming and mopping when it first enters the room. This information can also be used to determine the best cleaning options for rooms that have carpets and rugs versus those with hard flooring.

As with most robotic vacuums the j7+ is relatively quiet when running and it's even less noisy when it's mopping. The maximum reading of 64db on our decibel scale is similar to office chatter.

You can easily set up a cleaning schedule and alter the way that dust is cleaned when the canister is full. The j7+ can be controlled by voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.) for a hands-free approach and the app allows you to create and explore maps of your home.

In our tests, the j7+ performed well on carpeted and hard floors, cleaning most of the dirt we threw at it. It has a hard time dealing with pet hair, large debris and sand. But it is able to remove them with a bit more effort. It also has good navigation capabilities, as well as a pair of cliff sensors that stop it from falling down a flight of stairs or getting stuck on furniture legs.

We did discover a couple of small niggles with the j7+. These include that it could snag rugs and cords and that it doesn't always shut off its mopping when it's done vacuuming. In all other respects, it's an excellent product that ticks all the right boxes.

iRobot J7+ is one of the best auto-emptying systems we've tested. It puts its 14oz 0.4-liter dust container into the base station where it automatically emptys itself for you. This helps to reduce the amount of garbage you need to dispose of and you'll need to replace the dust disposal bag from the dock about every 60 days or so, depending on how often you use the j7+.
