After a string of social media posts suggesting it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Space Key was developed by a non-publicized artist, and based on cutting-edge carbon fiber composite materials, which were sent to the International Space Station as research material, is a new project that has been announced by lamborghini Key fob.

NFTs for those not familiar are unique identifiers which are stored on an open ledger on the blockchain and linked to an digital asset, such as a photo or video, song, or any other type of record. This lets owners ensure the authenticity, scarcity, and the trackability of their tokens through the internet.

Lamborghini is taking this unique approach to art a step further by collaborating with NFT PRO, an white label NFT solution for businesses. Over the next few weeks, Lamborghini will release details about this exciting project, including the name of the unknown artist and a timetable for the auction.

The physical element of the Space Key

The digital artwork

After months of posts on social media that hint at it, luxury automobile manufacturer Lamborghini has finally revealed its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. Each Space Key contains a block made of advanced carbon-fire composite material. It was sent to the International Space Station as part of a 2019 research project. After returning to Earth the block was engraved using a QR codes that connect to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that takes place at different times when the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. Each of five images was shot by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner utilized a balloon with a camera that captured each of the individual shots, that were then merged to create the final image. The result is an out-of-this world photograph that captures both the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyper-realistic image of the car rising away from it. The Space Keys are going to be auctioned off soon, but there is no exact date or time yet.

The auction
