It is powered by the Samsung SmartThings app that allows the robot to be controlled remotely and is compatible with voice integrations, such as Alexa and Google Assistant. The app is simple to use and comes with various settings, including cleaning modes that can be customized and scheduling.

The robot begins by mapping out the area it'll clean, making an image of the floor plan that can be viewed in the app. The bot will then start cleaning the area it has been mapped, bouncing into furniture, tight corners and other objects effortlessly.

When it absorbs dirt, it then dumps it into its own dust bin that it automatically empty into the Samsung Clean Station when full. This is a huge time saver, and it means you don't have to think about emptying the bin yourself. The Clean Station also serves as an outlet for self-emptying robot vacuum charging the bot, which is an added bonus.

This Samsung bot is a sophisticated bot with different settings to alter how it works. For instance, it comes with a "Smart Power Mode" that adjusts suction based on the flooring type. It can also move in a zigzag pattern or around objects. It can avoid certain items it believes could cause secondary contamination, or be dangerous. This is an excellent feature for people who suffer from allergies.

It was capable of handling hair that was long with minimal tangles, and it didn't lose suction. The brushes can clog up, especially near the nozzles. Be sure to keep an eye on them frequently. The app also alerted users when the brushroll was in a tangle.

Neato Botvac D7

The Neato Botvac D7 is one of the most powerful robot vacuums available. It is a great performer on bare floors, carpets with a high pile, as well as pet hair. Its mobility, ease of maintenance and power are top-notch. However, it is less suited to hard surfaces because it can't mop. It also has a relatively high cost and frequent costs.

Like the other members of the Neato Botvac line, this model has a distinctive "D" shape that provides it with two right angles for cleaning through corners and walls more efficiently than round models. When it's fully charged the D7 begins to understand your floor plan. It does this by creating an electronic map of your space. Once the map has been completed, it will start cleaning. The process takes approximately one hour for our apartment, though it may be quicker if you use the slower Eco mode.

It's easy to tell when the D7 is getting low on battery power, because the indicator button turns green when it's fully charged and yellow when it's close to running out. The D7 has a bigger battery than the newer D8 and can run for up to two hours in its maximum 'Turbo' power.

The D7 is fantastic for cleaning floors that are not clean however, it can get stuck on furniture feet or legs and cannot easily navigate up and down steps. It will send you a notification when it is stuck.

Dyson Ball Multi-Floor Cleaner

The Multi-Floor cleaner is an upright vacuum that uses Radial Root Cyclone Technology to maximize suction. Its brush bar has been modified to make the bristles smaller and stiffer, allowing it to penetrate carpet fibers further and pick up more dirt without causing damage. The new floorhead automatically adjusts to hard floors or carpets and seals suction. The hose and wand self-emptying robot vacuum are released in a smooth movement, making it easier to reach high or under furniture. Also, it comes with a full-machine HEPA filtering, which means allergens and bacteria are trapped inside the machine, instead of being emitted back into your home.

The Multi Floor is a great choice for those suffering from asthma or allergies. Its suction power makes it capable of picking up most dirt and debris from your floors, which includes a lot of tiny particles that are normally dispersed into the air. It works well on low pile and high pile carpet. It has an extremely long power cord that allows you to easily move around your home.

It's heavier than other vacuums we've tested but it's still fairly portable and easy to move from room room. It also has a bagless dust bin that can be emptyed with a simple push of an on. The bin can hold 0.6 cubic feet and is transparent, so you can see when it's full.

It didn't work better than the Hoover WindTunnel 2 whole house rewinding on floors that are not bare, but it was able to clean up litter and rice from carpeted floors. It also picks up more sand from carpets of medium pile than the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe. It's also less trouble to maintain and has no ongoing costs compared to the BISSELL Zing Bagless Canister.

Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner

The Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner is a bagless upright with strong suction that carries a reasonable price tag. It's a great vacuum for cleaning dust, pet hair, and other debris from carpets and floors. It's not the best robot vacuum and mop self empty-built vacuum in this class and has a tendency to lose performance as the dirt compartment gets full. This could be an issue if you own lots of furniture or pet hair.

The design is simple to operate and robust, but some users were concerned that it was too heavy for this type of vacuum. Its cord is a bit small, even though it can retract automatically. One of the features that customers appreciate is that it can handle the transition between carpeting and hard floors without needing to turn off the vacuum.

One of the major selling points for this model is the QuickPass brush roll that lets you clean up surface debris in only one pass. The patent-pending WindTunnel 3 Technology also creates suction channels that lift and eliminate dirt from the surface as well as dirt that is deeply embedded. Another benefit of the Hoover WindTunnel is that its filter can be rinsed and will only require washing when it starts showing signs of contamination. This is a great method to reduce the need for replacement filters and help keep your home clean for longer.
