It's a great choice on low-pile or medium-pile carpet. It comes with a large dirt bin and utilizes BoostIQ for automatic suction power adjustment. The S7's sensors work to avoid obstacles and clean the floors. It can recognize flooring types and save maps of rooms and zones, and even detect levels of dirt. It's also capable of scheduling and running spot-cleaning sessions. It performed well in the standard tests, but could not match the iRobot Roomba j7+ for the carpet deep cleaning test.

You can program the S7 by using the companion app to run a cleaning routine in accordance with your schedule. You can choose the cleaning mode like eco or automatic, and a weekday, day or time. You can also select whether the robot vacuums self emptying will stop if its power is exhausted or if it encounters an obstruction.

There's not much to dislike about the Shark IQ XL, although it is a little less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It's good of cleaning carpeted floors however, it isn't as efficient as the iRobot Roomba i7 when it comes to the performance of bare floors. The i7 also feels more sturdy, is more durable and requires less maintenance. It incurs lower recurring cost, charges faster, and offers comparable battery performance. It also comes with more advanced automation features, such as areas that are not accessible and the ability to select specific rooms to be cleaned.
