The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that is focused on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that has an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into furniture and walls. It's a great improvement over the standard hockey puck shape of most robovacs, though we discovered it to be only marginally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also features superior filtration that blocks microscopic particles and allergens recirculating in your home. We think it's a nice claim but not enough to justify a premium price.

You can also combine or create actual rooms to personalize the way Q Revo handles your home. This is an excellent feature for those who have multiple rooms in your home that have different flooring materials or if there's a lot of clutter that must be cleared out regularly, robot vacuum & mop such as toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum is also efficient and was one of the top performers in my tests, removing dirt from carpets and hardwoods in its first run. It is able to even remove wet spills, though I recommend cleaning them off with a cloth before sending the robot into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it comes with a powerful vacuum with a powerful suction to clean carpets and hard floors, plus an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also comes with an auto-cleaning station that automatically washes and empties the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready to be reused. It also comes with a sensor that recognizes obstacles better and prevents it from falling onto furniture and other objects.

The biggest improvement to the ECOVACS the X1 Deebot is its sleeker, more modern design. This is due to Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet tall and deep and weighs in excess of four pounds--the robot itself and its base are less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.

This version is also more efficient than the X1, as it charges faster and can complete a cleaning of around 1,500 square feet with just one charge. It also comes with a larger and more robust dustbin that can store more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that can be used even when you're at home. It also comes with more mopping modes and a smart routing feature that gives it the flexibility to clean certain rooms or areas of your house instead of simply following a predetermined route.

The X2 Omni is the best robot for mopping. Its mop pads rotating remove tough stains and its motor produces a lot of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is top-notch, and it boosts suction when it detects carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It has a large rechargeable battery that lasts up to a week. The mopping mode of the robot is also very effective.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a top-quality model that has a range of features that aren't typically found on robots of this price. It can create detailed floor maps and detect various flooring types. It's also one of the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are great however they can push the L10s into the premium category. This could mean it's more expensive than what homeowners want.

The front of the machine has an enormous bumper that shields the furniture and vacuum cleaner when you are moving around your home.
