Easy to install

Fiat 500 key covers are an easy way to freshen up your car keys. You can choose from a wide range of colors and styles to find the one that matches your personal preferences. Installing them yourself is in just ten minutes. You'll only need a screwdriver, and some patience. The first step is to take off the cover. The original cover needs to be removed prior to the replacement fiat 500 key fob is able to be installed.

After removing the old cover, use a flathead screwdriver in order to pry out the four main attachment clips located on the side that is on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are highlighted in red on the picture below. Also note the tabs that locate slots, which are yellow, that require disengagement also.

Replace the battery with a CR2032 coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should face the fob's opening, and the "-" side should be facing the buttons made of rubber.

Reattach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the tabs that locate it. Once you have completed this, insert the fob that is on the driver's side back in your car and test it by pressing the push button on the front of the car key. If everything is working properly the parking lights will be activated and the doors should automatically shut.

The BCM will then read the transponder that is on the key fob, to verify that it is valid.
