Espag

Espag handles are a multipoint lock system that can be fitted to casement windows like uPVC and double glazing made of wood. Cockspur

Cockspur handles are commonly found on older uPVC or aluminum windows. The handle is closed and then turns into a wedge-shaped receiver catch. (Not to be confused with timber latches which are also covered in this section.) The handles are available in lockable and nonlockable versions. They are available in various nose sizes that can be adapted to the frame.

The handle locks by a slender spur (little triangle bit) pulling up against a plastic wedge that is fixed to the frame. These are generally one way handles however a deadlock lock cylinder that locks is a possibility to add security.

As with Espag handles cockspur handle replacements are easy to install, all you need is new screws (supplied) and the proper backset. The backset is the distance from the baseplate of the window to the underside of the handle's nose.
