Buying a Robot Vacuum That Mop

A robot vacuum that mops can take the stress out of keeping your floors spotless. This is particularly true if your home has hard flooring and you want to reduce the number of Swiffer pads you have to purchase or dispose of.

Another important feature to consider is whether a mopping robot will return its water tanks that are dirty to the dock for drying and washing. The majority of the models we tested be able to do this, which can save you a step in your cleanup routine. However, it's important be aware that you'll have to manually empty the dirt and cleaning solution tanks and wash disposable pads in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions every time you mop. If you are considering buying a mopping robot it is important to consider whether the mopping robot comes with disposable cleaning pads or disposable ones. Robotic mops are more quiet than vacuums and can save you up to 35 hours of mopping each year. There's still some maintenance like refilling the reservoir or changing a dirty cleaning pads. Self-mopping can make this easier because the mop goes back to its dock automatically if it needs an additional pad.

This feature is particularly useful if you have hard-to-clean floors, like tile or granite. Some mop models scrub floors using a rotating, spinning bristle, while others use pads for cleaning. Some mop models sweep and vacuum as well as mop, providing more options.

If you intend to use an automated mop frequently you should consider one with an integrated dustbin or a bin that is simple to empty. Some mops that also vacuum require you to empty the bin more frequently than those that just mop. Some have a separate dustbin for each function. Keep in mind that no robot mop is perfect, self emptying robot vacuum and even the best ones will probably not get sticky grease messes as well like you would with manual mops or traditional Swiffer. They're great to clean up quick or for keeping stains from getting set however they're not an alternative to a thorough hand mop or a thorough vacuum cleaner.
