Mesothelioma Cases

Mesothelioma can be difficult to diagnose but it can be detected by imaging tests. Patients can be required to undergo a biopsy to confirm their diagnosis.

Some of these patients may live longer than others especially if they are young or have an epithelioid cell type. They may also have better general health or other risk factors. However, the options for treating mesothelioma are getting better. These include radiotherapy, chemotherapy and newer methods like immunotherapy.

Surgery can eliminate most stage I pleural tumors and some stage II or III cancers.
