1. iRobot S8

This smart robot vacuum and mop is a fantastic option for a wide range of homes. It has a great navigation system that includes GPS and laser sensors. It also comes with numerous features and control options that can be accessed through the app. It has a handy feature which allows you to create Cleaning zones in areas that require extra attention, and Keep Out zones in areas where you do not want it to go. It also receives software updates, like the other Roomba products, that improve the quality of the product over time.

It's expensive but is also among the most advanced robot vacuums ZDNet has ever tested. It comes with a powerful battery that can sweep an entire home in less than two hours, and it can switch between vacuuming and mopping at the touch of one button. And unlike other self-emptying robotics that require you to empty the trash bin after each run, it automatically empties into the larger waste container that is above its charging dock.

It also has a number of other options, like intelligent obstacle avoidance which uses cameras in conjunction with processor-powered smarts in order to recognize obstacles. It rarely gets derailed or trapped during cleaning and is also the most effective at avoiding power cables and other objects in my tests. It's not as precise at detecting pet waste or other dangers.

2. Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8

Eufy is owned by Anker It has become an established brand in the world of robots that are budget-friendly vacuums. However, it didn't offer the option of a model that could mop. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that offers a range of advanced features, and can compete with much more expensive models.

The laser navigation system is the most important feature of this machine. Previous Eufy devices have created an outline of your home using infrared sensors and bumping into objects but the X8's laser mapping system is much more accurate. It also takes significantly less time to create an accurate picture of your home and can store multiple maps, which is ideal for multi-floor homes.

The X8 is a decent vacuum cleaner for floors that are clean. It is able to easily throw debris through the side brushes and into the 400ml dustbin. The tyres are adept at securing corners and edges, even though they are circular. Our tests showed that it was able to remove 90% of the fur on hard floors.

The basic mopping mode uses the same water reservoir as the vacuuming mode. This is ideal for spills that aren't dangerous, but you are unable to limit the amount of water that it uses. It does, however, do an admirable job of picking up pet hair, robot Vacuum for dog hair and has a higher speed of pickup than the Roborock S7.

Like many other robots it's not a very good climber and is prone to problems with things like thresholds made of metal transition strips.

4. Shark ION

This budget robovac is a robot that is similar to other, but comes with several more features and better performance. Its intelligent mapping system creates 3D and 2-D maps of your house and makes use of to navigate and avoid obstacles. Eufy 11S is an excellent option if you're looking for a vacuum cleaner that is easy to use and simple at a reasonable price. Roomba 990 from iRobot

The Roomba 980 is the flagship robot vacuum. It's pricey however it's top-performing and, in some ways, the most advanced robot vacuum you can purchase. Its self-navigation feature and environmental mapping are a joy to behold. It also comes with more advanced automation features than most competitors, including the ability to set virtual boundary markers through its mobile application. While its app is a little sluggish, and the 980 does spin out a bit when rolling over cables, it's still an extremely efficient robot vacuum.

One thing we love about the 980 is that it makes use of its iAdapt 2.0 navigation sensors and visual simultaneous mapping and localisation technology (or vSLAM) to remember the floor plan of your home. It will use this data to create a consistent, efficient cleaning path in every cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a better robot vacuum cleaner than the majority of high-end robots.

The 980's other features include two multi-surface rubber brushes that pick up dirt from hard floors and carpet, along with an ejector brush that moves debris into the robotic vacuum's bin. Its floor tracking sensor assists it in maneuvering between furniture, along edges and on steps. Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling. It also automatically returns to the base station for easy recharging in between sessions. The bin capacity and battery life of the 980 aren't as impressive as other robot vacuums. However, it is an extremely reliable and sturdy machine that will keep floors clean for many hours.
