The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you're looking for a mid-range robot vacuum and mop. It provides a fantastic mopping experience, but doesn't have the features that make up its more expensive sibling.

In the course of testing, it was able to handle dust and dry oats on medium-pile carpet and pet hair on hard floors. It doesn't employ LIDAR however, as other models do to locate your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It comes with a variety of features and incredible cleaning power, including an area for dirt that is integrated into the base of charging. This robot can learn your habits for cleaning and suggest automatic schedules to give you an effortless cleaning experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once the system is setup you can begin the automatic cleaning with a single button click. It's a challenge with plush or high-pile carpets however iRobot says that future models will be better.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that concentrates on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that has an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it to be able to hug walls and furniture. It's a nice change from the traditional hockey puck shape of most robovacs, best mapping robot vacuum though we found it to be incrementally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims the S9+ has an improved filter system that prevents tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating within your home. We think it's a nice statement, but not enough to justify a higher price.

Its smart navigation system employs a combination of sensors to keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology for mapping the interior. It then cleans your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and schedule cleaning times, and establish virtual boundaries, so it is aware of areas that need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it comes to robots that combine vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are just as good as those on higher-end models. Its mopping system is even better as its spinning pads clean your floors more efficiently than a vibrating pad.

The only drawback is that it doesn't have an additional rubber brush to allow for deeper cleaning, but it's a small cost to pay if want one of the best buy robot vacuum robots available. The robo-vac's dust tank is larger than many of its competitors, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the maximum dirt level.

In terms of the mopping system, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. The two mopping settings that it has, which are less powerful than the high-powered modes, produce very low noise, which means you can work or even watch TV without being distracted. It will gently hit furniture or walls and then move away when it encounters one.

What sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost autonomously with very little need for user intervention. The robo-vac has a multifunction dock that can automatically transfer physical garbage into the bin hidden in the background and washes and dry mop pads and replenishes its clean water tank. The app is good at notifying you when something requires attention, such as the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled vacuuming session being cancelled due to a full dust bin.

You can also combine or create actual rooms in order to personalize the way Q Revo handles your home. This feature is useful when you have different flooring in different areas of your home or in the event that you have to regularly clear out clutter such as clothes, toys and books. The robot vacuum was also one of the top performers in my tests, picking up debris on carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first attempt. It can also clean up spills that are wet but I would suggest wiping them dry with a cloth before sending the robot in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a high-end model that has a range of convenience features not often found on robots of this price. It is able to create detailed floor maps and identify different types of flooring. It's also one of the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. While these features are nice to have but they also push the L10s Ultra into the luxury category and could mean it's somewhat more expensive than what some homeowners require.

It is designed to look like a contemporary floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim machine with an elegant white finish that's accented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by an enormous bumper that helps protect the vacuum and furniture from damage while moving around the house. Sensors are hidden behind the front pane, which helps the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top, there's a single button that essentially acts as an on/off switch. This button will turn on the vacuum. If you click it again, it will turn it off and send it back to its base station. The circular menu in the center of the control panel lets you to select cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences.
