Some robot vacuum cleaners can be controlled via an app on your smartphone, while others come with mopping technology to bathrooms and kitchen flooring. They are a great option for busy families, and they are becoming more affordable. However, if you want the latest features for your robotic vacuum cleaner, you'll be spending a little more.

The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is an all-in-one vacuum and mopping machine making it a great choice for those in a home with multiple floors. Eufy Robot Vacuum's application is more user-friendly and precise than other robots that have similar mapping and scanning functions.

A great feature on the X8 Hybrid is that you can control the vacuum or mop with your voice, thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This is a nice feature that makes the robot more hands-free. It worked well in our test home.

Like many robotic vacuums, the X8 Hybrid has some issues with bare floors. It can miss pet fur and small objects and is known to knock things like its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet as other models we've tested and the whirring sounds can be distracting.

Roborock V3S Pro

The robot doesn't have as many features as some of the more expensive models we evaluated however, it does have all the basics. It has a huge enough dust bin to hold plenty of dirt before it's time to empty it and its mop and vacuum system is great for hard floors and low-pile carpets. It's also very quiet, and we could watch TV while it was cleaning without feeling like it was blazing us with the sound.

Our test subjects were impressed with how easy it was to install and use, and were amazed by its ability to take all the mess off their flooring. It was effective in getting rid of pet hair, messes and carpeting, but it was a bit more difficult at removing stubborn stains. The app was easy to use and easy to understand. They were able schedule the vacuum to clean regularly to reduce the amount of manual work. The only downside is that it doesn't include any mapping technology or object avoidance technology, so you can't send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips can be used).

Another model from iRobot's affordable line, the V3S Pro has some impressive features for its price. It's also very quiet and has a large dust bin that can hold lots of debris before it's time to empty it and you don't have to worry about regularly emptying it.

The V3S Pro did not make it into our top choices lists of trusted sources who perform hands-on tests, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They were impressed with the ease of set up and use, however they noted that its battery life is short and it didn't manage to avoid some of the most difficult messes we put it through.
