Narwal Robot Vacuum and Mop

A relative newcomer to the robotic vacuum market, Narwal offers a sweeping and mopping hybrid that's pretty impressive. It's expensive and hindered by a cumbersome, slow learning-curve application.

To mop, drop a detergent sheet into the base station's clean water tank. Then, it makes use of clean water to wash the pads and scrub floors with 10N pressure.

Features

The Narwal T10 robot vacuum can clean and scrub hard floors. Its smart navigation and mapping system is built on simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technology. It also comes with anti-collision and cliff-sensing technologies that prevent the machine from crashing into furniture or falling down stairs. It can also identify and avoid carpets. This is a typical issue for many robot vacuums, mops and hybrids.

The robot has two large water tanks: one to keep clean water and one for dirty. Before a mopping run, it automatically goes to its base station and pre-soaks its pads in clean water from the tank. During the mopping process, sensors will notify you when it's time to replace the pads and refill water. It requires 16 ounces clean water, which is lower than most similar robots.

Once you've wiped the dirt off the mop pads, the T10 will return to its base station and auto-dries them to prevent cross-contamination. It then resumes mopping exactly where it began. You can draw a map of your space and then designate specific areas to mop or sweep. You can also create "no-go zones" to instruct the robot not to walk over area rugs or other obstacles.

Design

Performance

The Narwal Freo is a great robot that does an amazing job of cleaning hard floors. Its massive water tanks are easy to maintain, and it has a variety of mopping intensities. It can also remove small messes or spills from carpet. The vacuuming capabilities aren't quite as impressive, however. Its suction power of 1,800Pa is a bit lower than more expensive robo-vacuums, like the Roborock S6 MaxV Ultra.

The use of smart technology for navigation and mapping allows the Freo to adapt to the area and plan a cleaning routine that is optimized. It uses simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) to create an image of its surroundings, working in a zig-zag pattern to ensure a uniform finish and avoid cross-contamination. This map can be shared with the Narwal application, which allows you to modify cleaning settings and set zones that are not allowed to be used.

Once the Freo is mapped, it can automatically continue cleaning the area it left. The mop of the Freo is self-cleaning, and return to their dock for rinsing after each use. This saves time and Robot Vacuum keeps hands away from dirt and allergens. The Freo also conserves water by using only 16 ounces per mopping cycle. This is the equivalent amount of water used in a large coffee cup.

This robot can easily switch between mopping and vacuuming. It's a great choice for people who have both in their home. The sweeping capabilities of this robot are outstanding and it does a fantastic job of removing dust, pet hair, and other debris. The Freo's dual side brushes allow it to get into corners more effectively than single-brush vacs, and its cliff-sensing and anti-collision features assist in preventing it from getting stuck on staircases or hitting furniture.

While it's a decent vacuum/mop combo however, the Narwal T10 is pricier than most of its rivals. The Narwal T10's massive base station houses two 1.3 gallon tanks that need to be filled frequently. This can be a hassle especially if your robotic has a tank that fills faster. The app is messy and uninspiring, and lacks the features of customization you'd expect from a robot that costs more.

App

The Narwal robot vacuum and mop is a unique machine amongst the many all-in-one robot vacuums and mops available. While many others boast impressive vacuuming skills with a mopping feature the T10 was developed to be a self-cleaning machine from the ground up. Its sweeping, mopping and other features are efficient and simple to control using the narwal mobile application. The buttons on the base station allow for manual adjustments during cleaning.
