Volvo Key Fob Troubleshooting

Volvo owners appreciate their key fob's handy remote that comes with features. They can lock and unlock their car, start the motor, and even locate it using an app for smartphones.

First, place the fob of the key on an even surface, with the logo facing upwards. Find the button that releases it, wedge a coin between the cover and the fob and pull it up gently.

Unlocking the Doors

Find a clean work surface and lay out your key fob, battery, and other keys. Set the key fob with the Volvo logo facing up and then locate a tiny black button at the left side of the fob. Slide it down and to the right. The cover should fall off and expose the key blade's mechanical mechanism beneath.

You can open all doors as well as the reargate by pressing the unlock button on the fob's key twice. The lock button also shuts the sunroof and windows (if equipped) by pressing it for 2 seconds. Connect the battery, and the alarm should cease. If it does not, the owner's guide should include a reset option.
