The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a great option if you're looking to buy a mid-range mop and robot vacuum. It's a great mopping performance but lacks certain of the more advanced features that are found in its more expensive counterpart.

During tests, it was able remove pet hair and dry oats out of carpets with a medium-pile. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to help you map your home.

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top robot vacuums. It is a powerful cleaner and plenty of features that include a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. The robot also learns your habits of cleaning and suggest schedules that are automatic for a truly hands-free experience.

Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automatic cleaning functions at the touch of the button. You can select a general clean, which prioritizes the removal of larger pieces of debris like cereal and rice. Or you can choose two mappings to ensure that your entire home is completely cleaned.

This robot vac performs well on both floors that are bare and carpet with a low pile. It can take in large objects and doesn't lose suction as quickly as some other models, and it can even remove pet hair with ease. It does have a hard time with high-pile or plush carpet, however iRobot promises it will improve in the future with new models.

The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that concentrates on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba that has an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it to be able to hug the furniture and walls. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are common, but we found it only marginally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with an advanced filtration system, which prevents micro-sized particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. It's a nice claim, however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the high price tag.

Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to store the structure of your home, and vSLAM to map your interior. It then cleans your entire house efficiently by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, and establish virtual boundary markers, so that it is aware of areas that require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a robot that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are just as effective as those found on more expensive models. The mopping system is superior because its spinning pads clean your floors more effectively than a vibrating pad.

The only drawback is the lack of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, it's not a big deal if you want to own one of the top robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is larger than many of its competitors and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the highest dirt level.

As for the mopping device, I was awestruck by its ability to remove hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. The two mopping settings that it has which are less powerful than high-powered modes, produce very low noise, which means you can work or watch TV without being distracted. If it comes across a wall or furniture piece it gently smacks into it before moving on.

What really makes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost completely autonomously, requiring only a little for user intervention. The robo-vac has a multifunction dock that automatically moves physical trash into the hidden bin and cleans and drys mop pads and replenishes its clean water tank. The app is capable of alerting you when something requires attention, for example, the clean water tank running low or a scheduled vacuuming session being cancelled due to a stuffed dust bin.

You can also create or merge actual rooms in order to customize the way that Q Revo manages your home. This is an excellent feature to have if you have several areas of your home with different flooring materials or there's clutter that needs to be cleaned out regularly, such as clothes, toys and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, picking up debris from both carpets and hardwoods on the first pass. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I recommend drying them with a towel before sending it to.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo with all the features you could want. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum that has a powerful suction that cleans carpet and hard floors, as well as an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also comes with an automatic cleaning station that cleans and empty the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready to be reused. It also has a sensor that can detect obstacles better which allows it to avoid falling on furniture or other objects.

The most significant improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it has a sleeker, more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite big--it's over two feet tall and deep and weighs nearly four pounds--the robot and its base are much less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.

This version is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and cleans 1,500 square feet in one charge. Additionally, it comes with a larger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris which makes it easier to empty when needed.

Lastly, the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and an assistant voice that works offline, so you can control it even when you're not at home. It also has an intelligent routing feature that allows it to clean specific rooms or areas of your home, instead of following a predetermined route.

The Omni X2 Omni has the top mopping performance of any robot we've tested, because of its mop pads that rotate to scrub away tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding as well, and it boosts suction when it detects carpet to ensure it's doing the job well. It has a large, rechargeable battery that lasts up to one week. The mopping feature of the robot is also extremely effective.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a premium model that comes with a variety of convenience features not often found on robots of this price. It is able to build precise floor maps, recognize various flooring types, Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo and it's one of the few that can automatically wash and dry its mop pads. These features are nice however they can push the L10s into the class of luxury. This could mean it's more expensive than what homeowners would need.

Created to look like a contemporary floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device with an elegant white finish that's enhanced by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features a large bumper that protects the furniture and vacuum cleaner while moving around your home. Sensors are concealed behind the front pane, which help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top, you'll find a single button that essentially acts as an on/off switch. Clicking this will turn on the vacuum, while clicking it again will shut off the vacuum and send it back to its base station. The center of the control panel has the circular menu which allows you to select cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons on the screen will open up the app's settings menu where you can alter the way that the L10s Ultra works with your home.

The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination LIDAR and cameras-based navigation technology to map out your home. This helps the robot mop and vacuum efficiently without getting stuck. The LIDAR helps the robot vacuum avoid obstacles and recognize them as obstacles, which is an excellent feature for homes with pets or children.

The L10s Ultra has a solid vacuuming capability that clears 98.4 percent of the debris from our test on the hard floor and taking out all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops are efficient, clearing 98.4% of debris on our wood, tile and carpet tests. It wasn't as effective at removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oats from the carpet.
