Window Sash Repairs

The sash is an internal frame that moves upwards and downwards in windows that open. This article will show you how to do a variety of simple sash repair.

Weather Stripping

Wooden window sashes can give an elegant appearance to your home. They are also sturdy and will last for many years when they are maintained properly. However, they can become damaged or deteriorate in time due to exposure to the elements and normal wear and wear and tear. Sash Weights

Sash weights can be changed to improve the performance of your window sash and reduce energy costs. Sash weights are heavy, lead or iron cylinders, which are enclosed in a hidden cavity and connected to the movable window sash using a rope. These weights provide counterbalance, allowing the window to be opened and closed without the need for mechanical or electrical devices. The sash weights are usually ignored or discarded by homeowners and turned into scrap when they break; therefore, you may need to find replacements.
