iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review

The robot vacuum isn't too scared to climb the stairs, unlike some other models. Like all mops and vacuums, it is susceptible to clogging due to objects like tennis shoes, play jewelry, thread or other loose objects.

You can use the iRobot Home app to label rooms and set up no-go zones. It also lets you track the progress of your mops and their battery status.

iRobot Combo j7+

The Combo j7+ is a narwal robot vacuum vacuum and mop that combines smart mapping capabilities of iRobot with its ability to deal with spills. It has the same acoustic sensor onboard and iAdapt 2.0 Navigation as other Roomba models and maps your home seven times faster than previous versions. It also allows you to set Keep out Zones (for rooms that the robot is not allowed to enter) and Clean Zones (for rooms that it must be able to clean).

The most notable feature of the j7 is its robotic arm which keeps the mop pad locked away when it's not in use and lowers it to deal with carpets or hard flooring. The idea is to avoid spraying water onto the rug and the Combo j7+ does a good job of it during my tests. The robot didn't attempt to pass over the rug, even though I moved it around a few times.

The arm has an 240mL tank that can be easily popped out and filled, so it's simpler to operate than mop pads found in other 2-in-1 robots. It also makes use of iRobot's PrevisionVision obstacle avoidance technology, which is more sophisticated than some models of this kind.

iRobot Combo i5

It can create a map for your entire home, meaning it can clean wherever you'd like in just one run. It will also stay clear of objects like backpacks, cords, or toys. It will also stay clear of shoes, socks and litter boxes. You can schedule cleanings in your home and remotely control your robot via the iRobot App.

iRobot Combo i3

The iRobot Combo i3 has been updated from the original Roomba i3. It has the same fantastic dirt compartment on the outside and a HEPA filter to keep allergens out however, it now supports smart mapping. This means you can create zones that are not allowed to be used to stop it from cleaning those areas in the future. The i3 Plus still has a variety of other fantastic features like its advanced cleaning system with 10x power-lifting suction and a three-stage cleaning process. It also has a textured surface that helps protect against fingerprints, dust and hairs of pets.

It is able to perform well on unfinished floors and cleans most debris, but it struggled with pet hair on low-pile carpets. It is quieter and does a fantastic job on high pile carpets. The i3 is a bit more expensive than the Roborock S4 Max but it comes with a self-emptying system that emptys the dirtbag, refills its water reservoir, and cleans its mop pads.

You can design cleaning schedules using the i3 App. You can also make use of your voice assistant to control your robot to start or stop the cleaning. iRobot Combo i4

This iRobot robotic mop and vacuum is perfect for those who want to keep their home clean without lifting a finger. It does, however, come with a strong vacuum system and rubber brushes that don't get tangled with pet hair. It's also a good choice for homes with carpets that are high-pile because it can take care of the additional dirt and debris better than other vacuums. The i4 is also less invasive in terms of maintenance requirements, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance and has a longer runtime in its most powerful suction mode than the i7.
