Laser navigation is the main selling point of this machine. Previous Eufy devices have built up a rough map of your home by using infrared sensors and bumping into things, but the X8's laser mapping system is more precise. It takes less time to build an extensive map of your home and can store multiple maps. This is ideal for multi-floored homes.

The X8 is still a good vacuum on floors with no dust that can carry debris under its side brushes and into the 400ml dust bin with relative ease. The X8's tyres, despite their circular shape, are very efficient at grabbing corners and edges. It's not a great kitty litter picker, though, with our tests showing it can only remove about 90 percent of the fur off hard floors.

There's a basic mopping option which uses the same water tank as the vacuuming. While this is good for spills that aren't too big, you can't limit the amount of water it uses and this will reduce its effectiveness for more severe staining.
