I tested the IONXL using our standard debris test in a family room and kitchen with hardwood flooring and area rugs. It was excellent at vacuuming and removing pet hair, debris, and even some of the most stubborn carpet crumbs. It was also good at maneuvering and didn't bump into my barstools like the iRobot j7+ in this test. The only downside is that the ION XL can't detect cords, toys and shoes that may be in its path so you will have prepare your home for cleaning prior to running this robot vacuum to avoid these things.

The ION XL robot cleaner is not as intelligent as the iRobot j7+, but it's an excellent option if you do not want to spend over $500 on a robotic. It is better than the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways and is simpler to maintain and incurring lower recurring expenses. It also performs better in vacuuming floors that aren't clean and Self Emptying Robot Vacuum and Mop picking up pet hair, but it doesn't perform as well on lowor high pile carpet.

It's not as well-built but it's still an excellent option. The ION XL is a powerful machine with a large capacity bin. It is operated by an app or a voice command and is easy to maintain. It's also a great price.
